Wow, big news for Bitcoin! Only 1 million BTC left to mine now, right? A million feels like a tiny number compared to the 20 million already out there.

But how does this 21 million cap work anyway? Is it really valid for 100 million years? I doubt we’ll even be around then. Let’s keep it realistic, 2140 is a better timeline.

Totally agree. 114 years left sounds more legit, not a million years. We should focus on now, not some crazy future.

Right, the actual count is around 20 million BTC mined. I mean, reaching the cap in 2140 isn’t too far if you think about it.

Yeah, and the exact number is about 20.052 million. We have a bit of time before things get super scarce, but it's not forever.

Seriously, why start this thread now? 20 million BTC was mined just a few months ago. The last million won’t be around till 2140.

Glad I’m not the only one pointing out the errors here. Also, it’s estimated that 2.3 to 3.7 million BTC are lost forever. That's a big issue!

I wonder if anyone will ever try to increase the Bitcoin supply after it’s all mined? Some say it’s possible, which makes me hesitant to invest.

The halving does reduce block rewards, but I’m curious if that will affect miner numbers in the long run. Price has to go up for them to stick around.

100 million years is just absurd. I mean, who even knows what will happen then? We won’t be here to see it.

Bitcoin isn’t like regular money that just gets printed. When 21 million is hit, scarcity will be insane. It’s designed to be valuable.

Anyone who understands halving sees why there’s a delay for the last million BTC. Miners will still earn from transaction fees even after rewards are gone.

Lol, exaggeration much? No one will be around by 2140 to see the last Bitcoin mined. It’s all about halving making the process take longer.

Chill on the OP’s exaggeration. He just meant fewer BTC are left mining-wise. Prices will reflect that scarcity soon.

It’s easy to see the decline in supply over the years. In under 20 years, we could be down to just a handful of coins.

Totally with you on that. I missed the 2019 wave and now I wonder about all the chances I lost.

There literally isn't enough Bitcoin for everyone, no matter how many think Satoshis are a solution. The supply is limited.

Yeah, who knows if Earth will last 100 million years? Bitcoin should be done mining around 2140, then it’s all fees.

You were a bit off on your numbers. Total supply is 21 million, but slightly less than that is what will ever exist.

Sure, a million is a target, but I’m aiming for $1 million first. If it hits $600k, that’s a win for sure.
