hey guys
total noob here, don’t know much about crypto. i wanna get 1 BTC or its worth in ETH in a year. my fam is cool with covering energy costs for now, but idk how mining works and if it’s even possible. any advice? what should I mine? noise isn’t a problem, got a garage to work in.

first off, you can’t mine ETH anymore.
btc mining gear is pretty loud though. do you have 240 volt power? if so and electricity is free for you, grab a couple of Antminer S19s for about 2k each. two machines will cost you around 4k.
so if i get 2 machines for 4k, they’ll make back their cost after a year? but it’s bitcoin i really want, right? so if it’s 17k for 1 BTC, then that means i’d need at least 10 S19s to hit my target. wow, that sounds like a disaster. 10 machines cost 20k and may not even get me 1 BTC.

each S19 pulls around 12-13 amps. in the US, if your house is older, you might have 100 amp service. newer places usually have 200 amps. if you got the 200a, you’ll likely need a subpanel. but honestly, 5 machines will be pretty loud. i used to have 5 S17s in my garage and it was crazy.

wait, what? the post you’re referring to doesn’t even exist.
be careful, new guys. seems like someone’s trying to pull a fast one here.
yeah, this scammer's been using multiple accounts. it’s wild seeing them talk to themselves to fish for victims. looks like mods took down their posts though.
if you really have the funds, 50 Antminer S19 Pros could net you about 1 BTC a month. that’d be sweet. with that kind of investment, just hold onto the bitcoin for a couple of years. it’ll probably double.

buying bitcoin and holding it sounds like the smarter move. no need to deal with mining costs. just a thought, but seems more economical in the long run.
