Just saw the announcement for this new air-cooled ASIC miner called Proto Rig. Looks pretty impressive with a hashrate of 819 Th/s and efficiency of 14.65 J/Th. Anyone else excited about it?

Sounds cool but I’m not sure about the hot-swappable design. Like, if one ASIC breaks, does the whole unit go down? That’s my main concern. Can anyone clarify?

Yeah, I think they’re supposed to be hotswappable. We’ll need to see how it performs in real-world conditions though. Could change the game for maintenance.

Key specs again: 819 Th/s and 14.65 J/Th. That's a ton of power, but man, 12000W per miner is insane! Wonder how that affects electricity costs.

Heard the price is around 4500 to 6500 bucks. That’s surprisingly low for this hardware. Anyone planning to get one?

Looks like it requires 4 PSUs of 220v. Hope that’s manageable for most setups. Just thinking about how to handle the power requirements.
