Zuckerberg learned the hard way with Libra and Diem, huh? He figured out that going head-to-head with the government isn’t a great move. Now Meta is playing a safer game by using other platforms' systems to boost their own.

So using a regulatory-compliant token like USDC shows that the government has a firm grip on them? Or do you think it's more about bank control? Either way, I don’t trust any social media to manage my money. Tech billionaires are gonna steal way more of your data.

Honestly, this could be one of the best moves in 2023. Meta’s learned their lesson from Libra and is instead using Circle's USDC. It’s smart not to reinvent the wheel.

Totally agree! The concern isn’t just about money, but how they’ll manipulate data and payments. If USDC transactions become routine on their platforms, it’s a big deal for crypto access.

I’m pumped USDC is getting mainstream attention! Tether still hasn’t cleared their name, and people are wary about them.

If they crash and burn, it's not a big deal for them, they've got money to spare. If Meta promotes crypto to billions, it'll legitimize it and show that stable coins can be useful.

They’re all risky centralized coins. Just because a big name uses them doesn’t mean they’re safe. Meta backing USDC raises a red flag for me. They’ll be tracking spending through that coin.

1. They might be on the right path. 2. I’d rather use USDC than get hit with a transaction fee from my debit card. 3. CBDCs are stuck while stablecoins grow. Countries can’t even manage their own currencies, so they shouldn’t be in the race.

This might actually help Bitcoin! More regular crypto use could shift people away from cash and boost prices.

Yeah, whether it’s USDC or Bitcoin, it shows they want to lessen their fiat dependence. It feels like crypto is really finding its way back into the mainstream attention and more companies are gonna hop on this.

USDC won't outpace USDT anytime soon. Sure, it’s compliant but FB isn’t really gonna influence its growth significantly. USDT’s number one for a reason, and it’ll stay that way.

1) For real. 2) But banks take ages to process money. 3) Governments seem to want crypto data to tax it, especially in Europe.

1. They can. It’s just another payment option for Meta, not that big a deal. 2. Comparison is always smart, especially with fees. 3. This is separate from CBDCs; many places are still figuring theirs out.
