So, I just had my account closed by Kraken and they’ve taken my funds. What do I do now?

Not sure if this is the right place for this. You might want to check the legal advice board here. Lots of good info on regulations and stuff.
I’d suggest making some noise on their official Twitter. If it’s a lot of money at stake, they might pay attention if you tweet about it. Their CEO could see it!

Yeah, I see a lot of complaints about Kraken here. For your situation, maybe reach out to someone named btcx here? They might know how to help.
Lol good luck getting noticed on Twitter. Unless you spam, not sure they’ll see your tweet. Maybe stick to this thread and look for legal advice?

True, Twitter can be hit or miss. But if support isn’t responding, it’s worth a shot. Hiring a lawyer is expensive; I get that, but it could be necessary.
Lawyer might be a last resort. I talked to one and they’d charge around $7500. Better to get some initial free legal advice first, right?
You can also report internet crimes to the IC3. But who knows if they’ll actually help? Just get some local legal advice and see what your options are.

From what I gather, Kraken isn’t the main problem here. Maybe you triggered some alert and they’re just playing it safe. They can’t share everything with you.
But it’s on Kraken to show proof of any chargebacks. If they really closed your account for that, you gotta check with your bank too.
Bitcoin’s dead, man. Did you hear about Kraken checking up on customers? Sounds shady to me. Just like Cryptopia.

@jrrsparkles, you missed the point. The funds they’re holding are way more than any recall amount. And I didn’t even close my account! Stop throwing shade.

If the U.S. is involved, they’re required to freeze accounts without telling you why. Sounds like that’s what’s happening here.

Kraken has been a government tool for ages. Anyone still using them deserves what they get. Centralized exchanges are a scam.

Kraken didn’t freeze my funds; they just shut my account. They said it was due to a recall, but I couldn’t withdraw anything first!

@mindrust, saying people deserve to be robbed for using centralized exchanges is messed up. Yeah, they’re risky, but we need them to get crypto out there.

It’s like trusting a centralized entity with your crypto. Best advice is to get legal help since it seems you can’t resolve this directly with them.
