So, Japanese banks are jumping into the stablecoin game using a blockchain called Japan Open Chain. Kinda a big deal, right?
Japanese Banks Are testing Stablecoins on New Blockchain Initiative

It's a wild move for Japan to use a public blockchain for this. Most countries prefer keeping things private. Wonder how this will pan out.
Exactly. I mean, with all the fuss about crypto's environmental impact, it's funny seeing countries wanting to launch their versions of fiat.

Rumor has it, each bank might release its own stablecoin, and there will be a Central Bank Digital Currency too. Sounds like they’re on to something interesting.
Do these stablecoins even need a new chain? There are tons of blockchains out there already. Could’ve just used one of those.
Yeah but if they’re making a public chain, that’s a step forward. Plus, it’s different from their CBDC, I think.
So, will the blockchain be open for everyone to see, like a blockchain explorer? Need transparency here.
I’ve read that the blockchain might be private, but the tech should allow them to connect with others. More news should come soon.
Wait, didn’t Sberbank in Russia announce a DeFi platform too? Man, so many countries are trying to get into this.

Right! But Russia’s a bit behind on the DeFi front. They’re still in the planning stages, unlike Japan, which is moving fast.
Are we sure oligarchs would even invest in new DeFi projects? Still too many unknowns around Sberbank's plans.

I’m with you on this. Until things actually get tested, it’s all just talk. Let’s wait for their pilot program.
