I just saw this pattern on Twitter and thought it was interesting. Not my analysis but I know some traders can spot these things way before the rest of us catch on. What do you all think? If it completes, it could change trends for a while.
Is the H&S pattern on BTC Dominance still valid?

Many might not realize what the Head and Shoulders formation actually indicates. The OP is hinting at a potential drop in Bitcoin dominance based on the chart. Interesting fact though, the recent dip from over 60% isn’t just because of crazy altcoins, it's about stablecoins too. Like those pegged to fiat or even real-world assets.
Honestly, the chart seems kinda one-sided since it only focuses on a short time frame. Plus, it misses out on a bunch of other indicators that could back up the H&S theory. Bitcoin dominance is more of a general market indicator rather than a strict guide.
This whole discussion doesn’t really make sense to me. H&S patterns might hint at a trend shift but Bitcoin dominance isn’t the best measure for that. Everyone was hyping about it dropping because of an altcoin season in 2024, but Ethereum and other alts haven't exactly blown up, right?
So, according to Coin Market Cap, BTC dominance is sitting around 58.5%. The chart was posted yesterday when it was closer to 58.8%. Just remember that stablecoins are factored into this too, and I think we need to consider that if we’re analyzing the numbers.
Timeframes matter big time. If this H&S analysis uses a lower timeframe, then switching to a higher one can invalidate everything. Experienced traders know that patterns don't always play out as expected, so keep that in mind before jumping into trades based on this stuff.
Charts are just that, charts. They can show trends, but they won’t reveal what really drives those trends. Like in this case, it could be about tokenized RWAs growing. A lot of trading desks rely on technicals, so if BTC dominance shifts, they may just start moving funds into altcoins regardless of the reason.
This is all about Bitcoin and its relation to the entire crypto market, not so much about trading Bitcoin itself. We're using the BTC dominance metric to see how it impacts altcoins. H&S patterns can get confusing here. I thought we’d see an altcoin season by now, but still waiting.
Before diving into Bitcoin dominance charts, you gotta understand something key. BTC dominance is influenced by the market caps of Bitcoin and all altcoins combined. With so many altcoins constantly being created, it's no wonder BTC dominance can drop even with a ton of them failing eventually.
Totally agree, gotta take these long-term macro patterns seriously. If this one completes, it might swing billions in liquidity for months. If the neckline breaks, we could see a huge trend reversal. If Bitcoin's price stays steady and dominance drops, it might signal the real start of Altseason. But if BTC is falling too, then that’s a sign money is shifting away from alts entirely.
