I mined a bit like 10 years back. Just a simple setup with a couple of GPUs. I kept my coins and they turned out pretty valuable now. Not rich, but it’s nice to have something. So, question is there any coin I can mine now just to break even? Like, I want to mine and sell everything I get for USD right away. No holding or trying to guess market trends. Just in and out for cash. Can I do this with an old rig or two?

44 cents per kWh? Are you serious? That’s insane! Even in Europe, that’s super high. Mining at that rate seems nearly impossible, imo.

Maybe I misread my electricity bill. Some charges could be flat fees, not all by kWh. Gonna check a few more bills to be sure.

It could actually be 44 cents, depending on where you are and your plan. But still, that price is awful. You need to aim for like 1/10 of that to make mining work.

You can’t really mine Bitcoin with CPUs or GPUs anymore. After ASICs came around in 2014, the difficulty skyrocketed. Only a handful of altcoins can be mined with that hardware now. Also, this thread is more about BTC, so it might be better to move this to the altcoins section.

Yeah, no way to mine BTC with a regular PC setup. Here’s some links if you’re interested in other options.
