Thinking about getting a gaming rig with a hash rate of 114.5 MH/s. Anyone tried mining BTC with something like this? I saw earnings could be from a few cents to like $3.68 daily. Seems kinda low, right?

Just a heads up, you can't mine BTC with CPUs or GPUs anymore. It's been like that since 2013. You should check out the pinned post here, especially section three. It explains a lot.

You can actually mine BTC indirectly through NiceHash. So, you point your GPU at NiceHash, mine an altcoin, and get paid in BTC. It’s more of a service rather than direct mining. If you set up your rig correctly, you could earn some BTC while you sleep. I’m doing some GPU mining at home, and my power costs are pretty low in winter.

Yeah, that video is from 2021. Today, mining Bitcoin with GPUs is a stretch, especially under 1GH. Most pools won't accept that low hash rate. ASIC miners are the way to go for BTC. Look up which models are profitable and factor in your power costs. It's a whole different game now.

Seriously impressive! I live in SoCal, and my electric rate is about 20 cents per kWh. Even with that, some ASICs make a decent profit. If it’s so profitable, why isn’t everyone hopping on?
