Immersion Cooling Systems for Mining: What's the Deal?

I’ve been hearing a lot about immersion cooling systems lately. Do they really help miners perform better? Can they actually be overclocked?

Honestly, there’s already a ton of threads on this here and in the Hardware section. Do we really need another one? Why not check out those discussions first?

Hey folks, I recently found out about The CoolTank Project. They’re working on immersion cooling solutions, like a 75KW model and a smaller one, that could let you overclock up to 40%. They’re still in the sample phase, but sounds promising!

Just a heads up, setting up immersion cooling isn’t cheap. As a newbie, you might wanna consider good ol' air cooling. Just find a good spot in your garage with airflow and save some bucks.

Anyone got videos showing the CoolTank models? I’d love to see how they work. Using the heat from immersion cooling to warm your home or garden is a neat idea too. Way more efficient.

Overclocking actually doesn’t make your setup more efficient. It can lower your THs/J ratio. You can run them faster with better cooling, but it’ll cost you on efficiency.

Totally agree with you NotFuzzyWarm, overclocking isn’t the key to THs/J improvement. But hey, miners only last a few years anyway before needing upgrades. That’s where CoolTank’s 40% overclock could help us get more output in a shorter time.

Good point! While air cooling works for smaller setups, in hot places like Dubai, it's a challenge. I’ve been there and air cooling just can’t handle those temps. Immersion cooling might be the better choice for larger operations.
