Trying to set up a mining farm and got questions about immersion cooling for Antminer S19 Pro & S19j Pro with Beeminer Hive.
What's the water needed to keep it cool? Looking for advice since our water costs are kinda insane... Thanks in advance!

Immersion cooling feels like the holy grail of mining, right? Very few nail it, though. I’ve seen quotes that are way up there for a full install. Not for newbies, that's for sure. You sure you mean immersion cooling? That's submerging your gear, liquid cooling is different.
But hey, if you get it going, don’t forget to film the startup... could be a wild show!
Yeah, Beeminer Hive needs cold water entering the heat exchanger.
But it’s pricey here, too. How did you set up your cooling? Especially the oil part?

So they say a closed water circuit can be an option, right? But being in a desert, a pond won’t do you much good. A pool would probably heat up too fast.
How about connecting to something like truck radiators and lots of fans? That could work, I think.

Honestly, this setup might be easier without the water system.
Just run a coolant tank to radiators instead. Way simpler.

I got a quote on something that’s got an evaporative cooling tower.
It’s probably more for big data centers, hence the crazy price. Would love to see more advancements in this area.
But wonder about the costs for quiet cooling for home use. That tank I see for sale is a nice step, though.
You can DIY a home setup pretty easily.
Beeminer is just a metal box with a pump and heat exchanger. No immersion fluid included, so budget for that.
The dielectric fluid isn’t cheap at about $180 for 20L. But those auto radiators can do some serious cooling.

This is basic thermodynamics, guys.
I’m running an immersion program, so I’ve modeled this stuff a lot. Just remember:
1. Calculate heat production.
2. Look at thermal conductivity of your fluid.
3. Know the specific gravity of your dielectric.
These will help figure out flow rates needed for optimal cooling.

I’m starting my project to submerge my miners. Gonna test just 3 for now out of 10.
Planning to build a tank that optimizes the liquid, then use an exchanger to cool it with another fluid.
Will share more when it’s up and running!

Honestly, Beeminer is like a dream for us.
We’re setting up hydroelectric power, so we’ve got river water coming all the time.
Quick question: how much power gets saved on the S19 by ditching the fan?
And will I still need room cooling with Beeminer set up?
We’re looking at a 25% overclock and a 10% savings on power without using fans.
Do you guys think that’s realistic?
