How to Power an S19 Miner in the US

Just got my hands on an S19. Thinking of using my dryer outlet for it since I've got a 220. Notice there are two power inputs. How are folks managing this in the US?

It's one of those 4 prong ones, standard dryer outlet. My house was built in 2005. You pretty much answered most of my q's. I can just plug into one outlet and then split it to power both inputs on the miner.

Not sure many people are doing this in their homes in the US. Those who do probably have a custom setup for mining. Let us know if you go with philipma1957's suggestion and get those parts to use your dryer plug for the S19. Thanks for the tips, philipma1957. Have you tried this with your dryer setup?

Nah, I’ve got a gas dryer and stove. I installed three 30 amp 240 volt circuits instead. In NJ, homeowners can wire their own places. I went with older L6-30 receptacles since they’re cheaper. Got two 120 volt leads and a ground from the street transformer. Wiring three wires inside is pretty cheap and easy. My whole house runs on a 150 amp box, so using 72 amps for mining rarely happens in summer ‘cause the AC takes a 50 amp circuit. Gas appliances help lighten the load.

I went with a similar setup. Used a different adapter from the wall to the three-prong, but otherwise followed the advice. Ran it for hours in the summer without issues. Now I’m trying to figure out how to make the thing quieter. My wife unplugs it every day when she comes home.

For those wanting to reuse old wires & PDUs from previous gear (assuming proper amp ratings), is it doable to run 2 power cords to the same PDU bank? Like, switch off the PDU, plug both in, and then turn it on? Or is there a risk with that?

It cut noise by 10dB, which feels like half as loud to us. Just make sure the miner’s in a separate room... definitely don’t put it in your wife’s office even with all those fancy soundproofing tricks.
