Which is better, mining at home or using a hosting service? I'm new here and confused about which way to go.
Home Mining vs Renting Mining Power

Need more info, dude. What’s the electricity cost where you live? And what do you mean by hosted mining? If you’re thinking about doing it outdoors, that’s not great for ASICs because of humidity. If you’re not into maintaining your own miners, hosted is probably safer.
Listen, whether at home or hosted, you gotta know what you're doing. Hosted mining can easily lead to scams since you never actually handle the miner. And if you’re considering cloud mining, yikes that’s a scam right from the start! Home mining is all about cheap electricity and keeping your miner in a good environment cool and dry. You’ll also need solid wiring and internet. Oh and prepare for some noise too! But don’t worry, the community here can help you get started.
Honestly, for most folks, just buying bitcoin is often the better choice. That said, your backyard is way safer than trusting a hosting company. Most of them are shady, and even well-known ones can screw you over. Just look at what happened with Compass Mining, they really messed up for clients in Russia and Canada.
+1 to that. Too many shady companies in this space.
Your question is pretty vague, but I’ll say this: cloud mining is a total scam. It’s all just numbers on a screen. If you have some cash to invest, check out masternodes.online. Much better options there. Dash Coin’s nodes give you like 6% APY, which is solid.
