I’m from Chennai, India. How can I contact law enforcement to get my bitcoin back? Is there a way to report my case and recover my funds? Totally lost here.

It kinda depends on how much you lost. If it’s just a few hundred bucks, the cost of investigating might be way higher. Plus, scammers often know how to stay off the grid so it could be a waste of time. But if you lost thousands or millions, definitely report it to places like Chainalysis.

What’s Chainalysis? I’m not sure who to reach out to in India. Can someone explain how to approach law enforcement or is there an official site I can check?

Hey, what happened exactly? Were you scammed while buying bitcoin from an exchange or elsewhere?#

If it’s a big loss, go to the police for sure. If you’re not sure how to start, just walk into the station. If it's a small amount, it might not even be worth pursuing, just avoid getting scammed again.

I totally agree with that. My buddy’s facing issues with a major exchange. He transferred money but it’s been stuck for over 5 months. They keep asking for fees, but he hasn’t heard anything.

I used Storage X and I got hacked too. Lost like $6000 six months ago. Got all the evidence but can't do anything with it. I really need help!

Chainanalysis can help track scammers, but if they’re really good at being anonymous, you might end up wasting time. They might even give you pointers on tracking but I’m not totally sure. Did you catch that Chainanalysis report about DeFi and its role in money laundering?

Why were you using that wallet in the first place? I’ve been in crypto for five years and never heard of it.

This one? (link) They claim to be protecting millions. Sounds super shady. Not even sure how to file a case in another country like England.

You should probably give more details about your situation. Sounds like you got scammed but haven’t really explained how it went down.

Yeah @User, some folks just pick any wallet without doing their homework. If you had checked reviews, you might have avoided this. Looks like their support is pretty inactive too.

If that’s the wallet, it’s definitely a scam. I tried registering and it seemed super sketchy. You’ll probably need law enforcement for real help, depending on how much they care.

I wonder if it’s worth searching for ways to get your funds back. Just keep in mind that covering investigation costs can eat up your potential recovery.

Is there anyone who knows of hackers that can recover bitcoin? I’ve heard a bit about this but not sure where to find someone reliable.

How does a hacker not know? You mean a hacker can recover funds but you can’t find one? Just a heads up though, most hackers won’t reveal who they are. And recovering your wallet’s private key is not a quick fix.

I did have $5650 in bitcoin that I supposedly recovered with some service in March 2021. They charged me to recover funds from scammers, but now my wallet balance is zero. Can you believe that?
