Exploring a decentralized protocol for fiat-bitcoin trading

Had a wild idea while dozing off. What do you all think about this concept?

Been looking into decentralized trading myself. Checked out your GitHub page. I've been playing with my own Nostr-like DEX idea but focused on a specific altcoin. But here’s the thing, I’m kinda skeptical about something... connecting directly with a bank API? With all the scams from DEXes like Bisq, that seems risky. Hackers can exploit anything, you know? We need human judgment in the mix.

I’ve got accounts in four different countries and honestly, never heard of personal bank APIs. Maybe it’s a thing in some places, but I doubt banks would even allow that without heavy restrictions. It’d be different for payment systems, sure.

Wait, how is this a good thing? Not saying all crypto folks are shady, but you've got to admit, the chance for fraud is real. Protecting against scams is way more important than just connecting to banks. Best practice? Keep your funds separate and use different passwords everywhere.

Totally agree with that! Thanks for your thoughts here. I'm juggling a few projects, including Bitcoin and AGI stuff, and I hope someone picks this up too. I think it could be quite profitable if you have a bank account that provides API access. But I get it, banks can be suspicious. Maybe we just keep the transaction volumes low?

Quick update: I've been working on this system for about a year now. I’ll share details here as soon as I have something solid. Hoping to have it ready before next April.

Right now, you might wanna check out LNmarkets. It's got decent Thunderhub integration for lightning nodes, but it's limited to just BTC and USD. Doesn't offer direct bank access yet, but it’s in beta. Not exactly what you’re talking about, but it’s something to experiment with if you’ve got a LN node.
