I'm finally giving ASIC miners a shot. Always hated them because of their power demands, especially since I run my ETH rig on solar. Turns out, I just didn't have enough solar panels to power them. I made some cash trading crypto and got more 400-watt solar panels just for ASICs. What’s the best ASIC miner that uses around 1200 to 2300 watts?
Diving into ASIC Mining with Solar Power

Wait, why’d you get solar panels? lol, ASIC payback is usually quicker than solar setups. What’s your electricity cost like where you live? I think GPU mining will still stick around for a while, especially since ETH PoS is delayed. GPU returns are way better than ASICs right now.
Yeah, it’s too bad ASICs got so huge. I really liked my Antminer S3+, but nowadays, not many can handle a normal 120V circuit.
I can't rely on grid power here. It's just 4 hours a day, which makes it tough for miners. I had to build my own solar system, cost a bit though 3.5KV inverter, 12 panels, and 4 batteries. That’s my setup for my ETH farm, plus I’m adding those 400-watt panels for ASICs.
That sounds rough. I’d go for low-power ASICs like Goldshells or stick with more GPUs, given your power limits. If budget’s tight and grid power is cheap, maybe pick up some used Bitmain S9j’s? Run them for 8-14 hours when you have power.
