Dealing with Heatsinks on Motherboards

Used an air gun to take off a heatsink today... spent ages blowing on it, then realized my temp setting was way too low. Felt dumb when I checked the display. Once I cranked it up, the solder melted right away. Ever had issues like that while fixing stuff?

What motherboard are you working on? What makes you think those heatsinks are the culprit? What’s the problem you’re trying to fix?
