Been checking out Antminers for a bit now. What’s the deal with this new Canaan Avalon Q miner? Looks way easier to set up and run. Are there other miners like that?

Which Antminer are you referring to? Like S21 XP or something? Canaan Avalon Q is lower on energy efficiency (0.019W/GH) compared to newer ASICs. Don’t expect profits unless your electricity is super cheap.

Canaan Avalon Q is more of a home miner with less hash power. Other Antminers have better price per terahash and energy efficiency but aren’t really suited for home setups. The setup process feels pretty similar though.

Setup-wise, both are easy to get going. Antminers let you tweak a ton in the web interface. Avalon Q, though? Just an app with very few options. If you’re into SmartHome management, Antminers win easily while Avalon Q is a bit lacking there. But hey, the low noise level on Avalon Q is a bonus for home use. Antminers are super loud.

Honestly, it's kind of a toss-up. Both are ASIC miners but one has a higher hash rate and different energy usage. Can't really say which to buy since it’s your setup at the end. Antminers consume more power and make a racket, but they pay off more in hash rate compared to Avalon Q. For me, I'd base my choice on energy costs.
