Nah, GPUs can't mine BTC anymore. Unless you mean mining altcoins?

To mine BTC, you definitely need an ASIC. Machines like Antminer S9 or S19 Pro are what you're looking for.

Just a heads up, some machines like Futurebit's Apollo and GekkoScience's Compac F aren’t on that list. Plus, a lot of what's there aren’t SHA256.

ASICs are way more powerful than GPUs. They’ve got the specs to really excel at mining. I’d go for ASIC rigs over GPUs any day. Like, Antminer S19 uses around 3,250 watts for 95 TH/s.

True, but you can filter for SHA256 to skip the other algos. And yeah, they don’t list the Compac F because nobody submitted it. But honestly, Compac F is cheaper and more profitable than Apollo.

Cheaper to run, for sure, but Compac F costs way more per TH/s and is trickier to set up. Apollo is just plug and play while Compac F needs multiple USB sticks and fans.

As a hobby? Sure, but profitable? Not really! An S19 Pro might bring in around 14 bucks a day while using 78 kWh, which costs about 12.5 dollars for your power. So you’re spending $9k to make $1.5 daily. An S19XP might help, but still, you're looking at a long ROI.

If you have a good GPU, you could mine on NiceHash, convert it to BTC. If you’ve got a decent setup, you could profit at 15 cents per kWh. But OP's question fits better in the altcoin category, even if the end goal is BTC.

Are you in Europe? With those electric rates, mining is a no-go. Big miners pay around 4-5 cents, some places in Russia is under 2 cents. Power costs are everything, man. Find better rates!
