Bisq 2.0.1 Beta Released What’s New?

Yeah, it’s a whole new platform built from scratch. Supposedly, it’ll let you use multiple trading protocols all in one place.
The big news? Bisq Easy. They’re also planning to roll out more features like multi-sig protocols and atomic swaps but that’s still a ways off.

I checked it out. The client feels lighter now. Plus, they added an internal forum and some educational stuff. Less need to jump around to other sites.
I’m not a fan of this reputation thing they’re pushing. It means sellers are gonna want to up their trust scores, and that might drive prices up.
Atomic swaps are gonna be fun, especially with wallets like Electrum looking to integrate them. I see the Lightning Network gaining traction soon.
But this makes Bisq kinda like a mixer, right? Transactions could become untraceable, which might attract unwanted attention.
Bisq has always been like that. It trades BTC for XMR without a central authority, which is what makes it harder for governments to control.
I see your point, but I think it’s better to use Tor for privacy. They want to keep things simple for users, but safety first.
Nah, I don’t think ‘mixer’ fits Bisq. It’s just a platform for peer-to-peer trading. Mixing implies centralization.
+1 to that. It’s more like a private exchange than a mixer. But I’m having issues with stability can’t even get past the startup.
You know, the wiki has some good info if you want to dig deeper. Not everything’s clear in the video.
Coinjoin and payjoin are mixing methods, though. There are decentralized mixers out there like Joinmarket.

You can argue all day about definitions. But sending BTC->XMR and back does seem like mixing to me.
Hey, the new Bisq v2.0.4 is up for download! Check out the latest features.
Just saw that the 2.1.0 version is out too. Added Lightning Network support and some chat improvements.

Monero isn’t a mixer in the strictest sense, but it does involve obfuscation.

This is great for freelancers who want anonymous transactions, right? LN could be the way to go.
I’ve been testing Bisq for a bit, and I like how it’s set up. Feels user-friendly.
