Best mining rig for my situation

I live in a place where I'm the only one with electricity. Local businesses plug into my supply, and they cover the bills. Now, I want my own mining rig that won't eat up too much energy. Looking for suggestions that stay under 1000 kWh a month with decent profitability. Budget is not an issue for me.

1000 kWh a month? That's about 1500 watts per hour. There are some ASIC miners that fit that description, but they're kinda outdated. Honestly, with that power usage, you might not see a good ROI.

How about getting some RX 570 or RX 580 GPUs? They’re pretty cheap now, around $700 for a setup. You could run an Ethereum fork with a decent hashrate. But don’t expect quick profits, you’ll have to wait for the next bull market.

With that budget, you could also grab a couple of L3 miners. They might bring in better returns right now.

For Bitcoin mining at 1000 kWh, the Antminer S9 is an option. It runs about 1400 watts. Or you could check out smaller USB miners like the Compac F; they use less power and still hash around 14.4 TH/s.

Finding a good S9 isn’t easy anymore, they're kinda old tech. And these ASICs can be really noisy, which isn't great for home mining. GPUs are quieter.

What about the ROI if I don't count electric costs? I wanna keep things simple, and I could stretch to 2000 kWh a month. But I need something quiet so I don’t bother my neighbors. What’s the expected ROI on whatever rig you suggest?

If you're serious about Bitcoin mining, the Bitmain Antminer S19 Pro is the best choice. It offers around 110 TH/s and can make you around six or seven bucks a day. That's not bad for passive income.

But that daily profit can be misleading. You gotta factor in the electricity costs. The S19 needs 3 kW, which is likely too much for you. Might end up losing money instead.

S9s are a lot louder than L3s. Definitely keep that in mind.

You could also consider a S17 pro on low setting. It uses around 1200 watts and generates decent returns.

You can tweak an S19 to undervolt it, bringing the power usage down to around 1300 watts. Should still give decent hashrate.

So you’re saying two ASICs for Litecoin could make around a hundred bucks a month? But they’re noisy, so that’s a downside.

For reference, S19s are like a jet engine sound-wise. L3+ are much quieter.

Check the sound levels: L3+ is about 70 dB while S19 can hit 80-83 dB. Big difference.

Yeah, and the L3+ can run at 680 watts with good firmware, even quieter with fan adjustments.

Most ASICs are loud, I haven’t seen quiet options for home setups in ages.

Soundproofing boxes might be your best bet if you want to maximize profits without the noise.
