Are Trading Competitions Worth It?

I've seen plenty of these Tier 1 exchange competitions but honestly, how legit are they? Like, do users actually win anything? Always feels like a gamble. Got tired of trading losses, looking for something else. Anyone tried the recent Onchain Trading Competition 53 with coins like CUDIS or USDUC?

I joined a competition on Bybit once. The task was simple but guess what, I didn’t win. They chose winners on a first come first serve basis, which was never mentioned in the rules. Totally felt cheated.

When a competition happens, the budget gets divided among winners. I saw it in a Telegram group about some airdrop. They post updates and you see winners listed. I got $200 from Bybit after depositing and trading a bit, so I guess some of it is real.

Yeah it’s tough. Those contests are serious business, especially on Tier 1 exchanges. Whales enter and dominate. If you can’t handle the heat, you might want to skip those and just stick to regular trading.

Feels like some people just thrive on winning those. Maybe they’ve won before or know someone who has. But honestly, the pressure can be too much, and that messes up trading instincts.

I’ve had some success and earned rewards. Just make sure you read those rules carefully and meet all the minimums. I know some buddies who bagged up to 50 BGB from contests, so yeah, it’s worth a shot!

These contests usually need you to hit certain volume targets. But letting winners brag seems rare. It’s usually just the last-place participants who say anything.

True, they’re legit but competing is rough. Winning prizes isn't guaranteed and if you can't handle the challenge, just trade normally instead. Better to avoid stress and focus on profits.

Honestly, big exchanges like Binance and OKX wouldn’t risk their reputation with fake competitions. I entered one for a specific altcoin and didn’t win, but I knew others did. A $5 win from a deposit challenge happened, so there’s some value.

Yeah sticking to reliable exchanges sounds smart. Those smaller ones? Not so sure they’ll deliver. Sharing a $20k prize between tons of participants doesn’t sound promising.

Everything noticeable by exchanges is real, as long as you meet the requirements. Flexibility is key. But, rewards might be less than you anticipate.

Top tier exchanges won’t tarnish their image with scams. Competition can help them stay visible. But with tough criteria, it’s not easy to win, especially against experienced traders.

I think it's unlikely they’d fake competitions just for attention. They run real contests, but if you’re looking for easy wins, this is definitely not the way.

Contests vary by exchange. CEX competitions pay through the exchange, but on-chain ones depend on team honesty for payouts. Many on-chain contests don’t pay, so check the team’s background.

They’re definitely not fake, just a bit tricky. It’s hard to prove who’s done better unless you can manipulate the numbers. Kind of like a secret contest where income isn’t fully seen.

These competitions often set minimum trade amounts or requirements. Yes, they are legit if you qualify. Read those rules to understand where you stand before jumping in.

Stay cautious though. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is! The Terra example is a good reminder high yields attract greedy folks.

I've never personally seen anyone win big prizes like iPhones or cars. Clear giveaways with defined rules seem more trustworthy.

Post-competition, there’s usually a winner list with top volumes. Not many share their wins unless they’re influencers. I don’t follow trading much, but those spin wheel contests? Yeah, usually just a $10 prize.

I guess we should take their claims at face value since they’re big names. But there could always be some manipulation behind the scenes. Who really knows for sure?
