Are My Node Connections Normal?

Hey folks! I just reinstalled Windows and now Bitcoin Core shows 38 inbound and 10 outbound connections. Is that normal? Safe?

Yeah, that's pretty normal. Your node needs those outbound connections to sync up with the blockchain. You might just not have allowed incoming connections before the reinstall.

It's mostly safe, but if you’ve got UPnP enabled, you might want to switch to port forwarding instead. As long as you let Bitcoin Core through Windows firewall, you're good on that end. Just check your router settings too, since they can mess with port mapping.
