I set mine to back up daily. Restoring only takes a day to sync, which is nice.

Hey folks! I just reinstalled Windows and now Bitcoin Core shows 38 inbound and 10 outbound connections. Is that normal? Safe?
The reality is both Knots and Knobs are joking around. At least Knobs acknowledges it.

Yeah, that data flow is way less than I thought. The 2TB was over a week. Glad to hear it! Happy to support this tech.

Thanks! I didn’t think about how often peers connect and disconnect. So maybe it’s not as much data over a week as I thought. But hey, got any tips for this price drop? Just curious.

Interesting. My node shows it connected 2 days ago. In that time, I’ve seen 4GB received and 2126GB sent. Is that normal? Why is mine so high? I’m just trying to figure this out!

No malware here, I keep my system secure with Bitdefender. I’ll just chill unless my ISP gives me a shout. Thanks!

Nope, no slowdown at all. I’m on a 1GB fiber connection. Even running the node on a VPN, I still get decent speeds.

Not sure what happened there. I’ve got 115 inbounds and 10 outbounds, and my Network window always shows a steady flow of data.

I’m not really worried about privacy either, just the data side of things. You said you hit 2.5TB last year? My node’s already shown almost 2TB in just a week! That seems way too high for smaller ISPs. Guess I’ll keep…

Hey! I've been running a core node for a bit, and I just realized I’m moving terabytes of data. Kinda worried my ISP might reach out about it. Anyone else had issues with their provider?

Thanks, everyone! Sounds like I’m all set for now. That note in the installation guide about needing an incoming connection might need a rewrite though.

I just set up Bitcoin Core on my Windows 11 Pro. Took me like a day and a half to sync everything. The Bitcoin folder is huge, 608GB! I’m seeing 10 peers connected and there’s a lot of data sending and receiving. Just…
This sounds more like a pro argument. Waiting to hear counterpoints.
Good point, I’m also curious about this. Waiting for some solid answers.
Yeah man, that’s all about the config file! Been running my node on Windows 11 with the.conf in a different drive. Found it in E:\Bitcoin and it works as expected.
I got a node that's connected and it has commands in the User Agent field... Anyone know if setting datacarrier to 0 and permitbaremultisig to 0 is safe? What do they actually do?
Come on, the Vice President could be a future leader, that’s a big deal! Plus, Vance holds a significant amount of Bitcoin.
