Been looking into how to set up mining with solar panels. Anyone here done this? I’m thinking of going solar to mine for free.

You need constant power for mining to be worth it. Solar alone won't cut it. Either you need batteries or be connected to the grid for those times when the sun isn't shining. Batteries are pricey and might not pay off.

Appreciate the tips! But has anyone actually done it? I wanna hear real experiences. How well do the rigs run when the sun’s out?

Exactly. The running time depends on your solar output and battery capacity. Need to know how much energy your panels can generate.

Thanks for the links, super helpful. I just wanna hear from someone who actually uses this setup. Theory is nice but practical experience is better.

We all know Bitcoin mining needs consistent power. People are looking for alternatives, and solar is one. But it needs a lot of energy. I can see solar getting more popular for mining in the future.

Good point. But what happens in rainy seasons? Do solar panels recharge well enough without much sunlight? I think if you're in a sunny place like the UAE, it might work, but elsewhere? Not so sure.

That’s true. Plenty of miners are using solar panels, but success varies by location. Places like the UAE have great sun exposure, while others don’t.

You can use solar for mining, but it's not as simple as just putting up panels. You have to think about placement and how many hours of sunlight you'll get.

Using solar as a backup can help with electricity costs, but running solely on solar is tough. Think about how many panels and batteries you’d need for non-stop power.

I have over 400 kW of solar capacity. Producing around 2.2 MW daily, which can run 27 S19 miners non-stop without batteries. We’re connected to the grid, so we feed excess back and use it at night.

So you're saying the grid is your backup? That makes sense. Relying solely on batteries can be a nightmare.

For sure. Best approach is using solar during the day and switching to grid power at night. This cuts costs significantly.

I have 25 miners, each making about $6 daily. Not sure how that compares to your setup.

Solar can save money long-term, but initial costs are high. Around $1600 per kW in my area. After that, it’s cheaper. Just be careful about where you buy the panels.

Only works in sunny places like Africa. But even then, you can’t mine all night with just solar.

The amount of solar power needed for mining varies. Depends on your setup and how sunny it is. A single miner can use between 500 watts to 1.5 kW.

Let’s not kid ourselves. Real miners draw a lot more power than that. Some machines pull over 5 kW.

Batteries are tricky. You need to maintain them well. Never let them drop below 50% capacity.

Not to be that guy, but I think you should revise that info. It’s not accurate.
