tried holding a short for months once... thought I could profit, but ended up closing too soon after making a tiny gain.

Yeah, I feel you. I once had a coin go from $0.02 to $28, and I got greedy. Held it too long and crashed down to $0.6 in days.

Short positions aren’t meant to be held long term. You gotta be quick. Long positions? Sure, they can hang around longer.

Rave was a classic pump and dump. 90% of holdings in a few wallets? Total manipulation. Zachxbt and Binance calls wrecked it.

Never held shorts too long. Maybe a week max on major coins like BTC or ETH.

Futures aren’t for long holds. If you kept Rave short from peak, those funding rates would kill you. Like -2% hourly on use. That's nuts!

Greed is real, man. Opened a long on BNB, saw profit, then left it open... walked away and got rekt when I wasn’t looking.

I’m stricter now. No trades unless they meet my rules. Guessing when to hold is risky. You gotta have a plan.

Your mindset is why you take profits too quickly. Work on that! Recognizing potential shorts is one thing, sticking with them is another.

#10Dec 30, 2017, 05:27 PM I disagree. Futures can be held longer with the right strategy. Just do your homework and don’t go all in.

#11Dec 30, 2017, 08:30 PM That’s a common issue with hype coins. The swings are wild. I’m cautious now, only use small amounts in this bear market.

Totally agree. Whether it's long or short, it's all about psychology. Emotions mess with your trades, even for pros.

You gotta fight those emotions. I’ve improved a lot... realizing it helps avoid missed opportunities.

Position trading requires a different mindset. Stick to your guns during downturns! Trailing stops can help lock in profits.

What type of market are you trading? Spot or futures? Most people prefer spot for safety.

Risky holding shorts long. You gotta watch your positions constantly or you could lose big. Anxiety is real!
FPosts: 434 · Reputation: 1205
Your use might have been too low. Shorted at $25 to $19? Should’ve made more. But yeah, greed plays a role.
WPosts: 174 · Reputation: 19
Been there! Tried to hold GRASS at $2.4. Should’ve waited, but I panicked and cut it too soon.

Luna perpetual swaps had my back once... forgot about my position during the crash, made a nice profit.
DaPosts: 27 · Reputation: 749
Got that feeling too. Should I long this coin? What if it dips? I didn’t touch it, and it paid off.
