So, if I have an old satellite dish, can I receive blocks? Any guides for that?

Can I surf the web with this satellite setup, or is it strictly for blockchain? I could use clarity here.

If we could send and receive data from the satellites, that would be a big deal, especially in countries with strict controls.

Yeah, but to upload anything, you’d still need a connection, like through a cell phone.

You’d need a smuggled phone with a wallet app. But even then, what’s the point if there’s no internet access?

I’ve seen some discussions on that OuterNet forum. Maybe someone there can give advice on pointing it at the right satellite.

Yeah, I get that. Only diving back into mining if they change how income from mining is taxed. It’s tough to make it work otherwise.

No tariffs on this, supposedly. The chip is from overseas but everything else is made in Georgia. Just a 7% sales tax there. I’m only getting back into mining if they change the tax rules in the USA.

If you’re on Linux, you’ll need either bfgminer or cgminer. You'll probably have to compile them, but it’s not too hard. Just follow a few commands.
