What tool are you using for the block stats? Those unknown pools aren't just solo miners, they’re a mix of miners combined. They probably pull more blocks because they're numerous. Also, remember the early days when solo mining was more common.
Unknown just means we have no clue who mined the block. It could be anyone from solo miners to small or big pools. Last year, unknown blocks made up about 7% of the total, which is actually less than what the top pools mined alone.

Honestly, the person who made that graph might not get the whole unknown thing. But yeah, those unknowns are pretty rare, probably around 2%.
It’s not exactly rare. It’s more about low probability, kinda like a lottery thing. Sometimes miners just get lucky and solve empty blocks. The mining process? It’s all about randomness from the double hash sha256.
I’ve heard crazy theories about SHA-256 being compromised by the NSA or something. Like they could track users or drain wallets. But come on, there’s no actual proof. Just cause they helped with some hashing algorithms doesn’t mean they’re involved with Bitcoin.

You can find conspiracy theories everywhere. But reality is usually less dramatic.
From what I've researched, luck plays a big role in mining success, which I didn’t think before. It’s not just about hash power. Other factors like node location and equipment matter. Still, bigger pools usually have the edge in the long game.
