Hey everyone! Just joined and need some help. Where can I find a reliable bitcoin miner? I've been looking into Avalon, Bitmain, and Futurebit miners but can't find anything in my budget. Every time I try to buy one, they're all sold out. I really don't wanna go over 5000 bucks, and shipping to Europe would be a huge plus!

Check out eBay for some options, I’ve seen a few decent miners there. What are your power requirements though? Like, how many watts can you handle? Also, where do you plan to use it?

Thanks for the tip! I’ll check eBay. I think starting with 1-3KW sounds good, just to experiment. I might use it at home but not sure if I want it to heat the place yet.

For 1-3KW, I’d say go for the S19k Pro 120T at 2800W. But if you can, grab the S21 XP 270T at 3750W. You can switch to low power mode when they update the firmware.

Nice, I actually liked the S19k Pro on eBay too! But are you worried about ordering from China? I see a lot of good deals from Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

I found some shops that sell the Avalon miners, like mines.shop and woyouminer. They have Bitmain ones too. Might be worth checking out.

Interesting take on Bitmain. I thought they were the go-to for ASICs. Can you share more about their failure rates?

I’m away for a couple of months, and I did the math. I’ll need the S21 XP to turn a profit since my electricity isn’t cheap. Thinking about a partial solar setup too, but wanna start with something smaller.

I’m trying to order something now so I’m not waiting around. I’m looking at the S19k Pro, but can’t find good deals in Europe. I found a used S19j Pro 104TH in Croatia for around 1000 EUR. What do you think?

What does 'hosting' mean here? Just curious.

They host your miners at their facility and manage everything. You can still access it to tweak settings and stuff.

Canaan just dropped a new 90T miner, Avalon Q. It's got lower power usage and noise. Price is about 1599 bucks.

Thanks for that tip! I might go for it. By the way, I got the S19j Pro and tried solo mining for an hour. It’s loud; I didn't expect that. Thinking of putting it in the garage to cut down on the noise.

What’s the model and price? You got it from eBay, right? How’s the electricity bill?

I got the Antminer S19j Pro 104TH for 3200W from a Croatian seller. Should’ve gone for the Avalon Q, though. What’s this about Bitmain miners failing a lot?

What's your power and cost setup? I suggest selling the S19j and getting the Avalon Q instead. It’s much quieter and more efficient.

Yeah, I should’ve considered that. How do you deal with the noise? Do you keep them far from your living area or do you have some noise reduction methods?
