Where to Find a Bitcoin Miners Map?

Hey everyone, happy Friday! I'm on the lookout for an interactive map that shows how many BTC miners and farms are in different countries. Does anyone know if such a thing exists? I ran into a map but it seems more focused on pools rather than individual miners. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Not really possible to know for sure. Mining pools don’t disclose where their miners are located, so you're basically seeing just pool data. Even if they did share, it would still just be educated guesses since they only track IPs, and those can be hidden behind VPNs or proxies. So, yeah, not super reliable.

I pretty much agree. Most miners likely aren't using VPNs anyway, so that map aligns pretty well with some studies from Cambridge. Those studies seem to pull from similar sources, like BTC.com and Poolin, tracking IPs. Last I checked, those pools made up about 35% of the total hashrate. Not perfect info, but I think it’s close enough.

I’m not buying that map's accuracy. For a real breakdown, pools would need to continuously share IP data for their miners, and that’s a big privacy issue. Each IP is tied directly to a person or data center, so yeah... that's a tough sell. Plus, the distances can be all over the place depending on where the node is.
