Everyone’s buzzing about Bitcoin’s next price move and there’s a ton of theories out there trying to predict it. Here’s mine: whales. I believe a tiny group of individuals or entities holds a massive chunk of Bitcoin, which shakes things up in the market.

Totally agree, this is basic economics. If you don’t control the network outright, you can still skew prices by holding. That’s why firms and even governments are hoarding Bitcoin. Sure, every system has flaws, but Bitcoin’s limited supply can really centralize price action.

Interesting point. If Bitcoin ownership is as concentrated as we think, it’s kinda not decentralized in the marketplace. Unlike traditional commodities, crypto has zero regulations. Market manipulation might land you in hot water elsewhere, but not in the world of Bitcoin.

Just saw some whale news: looks like they’re making moves to counteract a big Bitcoin sell-off. I’m all for following whale activity to predict future prices.

But how do whales manipulate the market if they’re just trading other assets? I don’t think they want Bitcoin to skyrocket. If they’re all in contact, that theory falls apart. They’d need to dump and buy back at strategic moments to really gain.

Maybe they’d sell a bit more than they buy back over time? But dumping at high prices to scare the market, then buying back cheap? That sounds plausible. With their resources, they could pull it off.

Yeah, big holders do affect prices, but mostly short term. They don’t control everything like some secret syndicate. Each whale acts on their own interests. Following their wallets for signals is cool, but it shouldn’t be your only strategy.

Interesting take! Seems like whales can’t just dump everything. But if they think they can move the market, why not crash the price and buy low? It’s a tactic used in lower cap coins.

I think it’s unlikely whales are all connected, but one entity could own a huge market slice. Still, these whales could totally communicate and coordinate their moves. They spend big bucks on market analysts and tools, which gives them a huge edge over small investors.

Heard a whale is about to cash out $760M. Gonna be fun to watch how they handle it.

In my view, we’ve got two factors: the market moves on its own, and whales influence it. They don’t own or control things, just have an impact. This was super clear back in 2017 when whales tried to push prices down but failed.
