Looks like Uzbekistan is cracking down hard. They just made it illegal for citizens to buy crypto. Selling is still allowed if you can prove it legally, but anything that’s not registered is a no-go.

Dude, just last year they were trying to attract crypto exchanges with tax perks. Now it’s like a complete 180. Are they scared citizens will use crypto to protect their wealth? Seems like a panic response to civil unrest.

So they’re dealing with protests over gas prices and decide banning crypto is the way to go? Seems like they’re just looking for excuses to shut down the industry. This is a dictatorship move, honestly.

And let's not forget they just issued their first exchange license a few days ago. Talk about mixed signals. I doubt this will end well for them.

Totally agree. Instead of banning, why not regulate? Prohibiting purchases is just gonna push people to shady sources. It’s kinda ironic since crypto aims to cut out middlemen.

Right? It's like they don’t even get it. They should be focusing on real issues like corruption, not trying to control how we use our money.

This is a terrible move for them. They had potential to be a crypto hub and now investors will see this as a sign of instability. I really hope the backlash is strong.

This is just the beginning. Governments love to hate on Bitcoin. In places like Uzbekistan, where laws are shaky, it’s easy to misuse crypto, so they’re just trying to prevent losses.

I need to see the legal text, but allowing sales but not purchases? Seems like they’re just trying to protect their currency. But good luck stopping people from getting Bitcoin.

Yeah, security measures often backfire. If this is true, it’s gonna hurt the crypto scene there a lot. They’re just making things harder for themselves.

If this isn’t fake news, it’s a big red flag for investors. They really need to establish stable laws instead of flipping policies based on panic.

It’s like they gave crypto a chance back in 2018 and now they’re backpedaling hard. They’re trying to rein in the chaos without losing out on the benefits.

Still trying to wrap my head around why they’re doing this. Banning purchases but letting people sell? It just drives traders underground. Government’s gonna struggle to control that.

And enforcement? Anyone can just use P2P platforms like Localbitcoins. These crackdowns rarely work because they’re basically impossible to enforce.

Good point. It’s like they’re preparing for a crisis by shutting down crypto. But they’re ignoring the benefits crypto technology can bring to the table.
