Hey everyone, I’m new to Ledger Nano S and trying to use it with MEW wallet. When I log in, I see 5 different MEW addresses. Are they all mine? Who created them? I can’t find the private keys either. Do I not need any passwords like with regular wallets? I’m kinda lost here, can someone help me out?

Think of MyEtherWallet as just a tool to connect with your Ledger Nano S. You’ll still have to enter your PIN to open up the Ledger and confirm any transactions. Those addresses you see are yours, they were created from your seed.

Check out Ledger’s guide for MyEtherWallet. It’s got details you might find useful. Plus there are tons of tutorials and videos online that explain all this stuff.

Yeah, those wallets are already built into your Ledger Nano S. When I got my Trezor, I also had multiple ETH addresses. You can manage everything right from your Ledger account.

But why can’t I see the private keys for those 5 accounts? Does that mean I don’t need them?

The private keys are stored on your Ledger device. In simple terms, MEW uses your public address to check your balance and create transactions. Those transactions get sent to your Ledger, signed with your private key, and then go back to your computer. That's why you can’t see the keys; they stay on the device. It’s part of what makes hardware wallets so secure compared to regular wallets.
