Countries holding US debt are deeply invested, like Japan with over a trillion. If US defaults, what then? Military power might protect the elite, but could it make enemies too?

Trump seems like he’ll just rack up more debt instead of fixing it. It’s all a strategy to pass the blame to the Democrats when things go south. That’s just politics, honestly.

Can’t believe this guy’s approach. One minute he’s cozy with allies, the next he’s throwing them under the bus. No credibility, only self-interest. It’s all about him at the end.

Agree, no one is really going to war with the US over debt. If a leader tries, they’ll just end up in jail, just like others who challenge the system.

The US military is indeed powerful, but if Trump doesn’t handle debt wisely, it might spark tensions anyway. Like, how would other countries respond?

Trump’s unpredictability is wild. You act like it’s all a grand conspiracy, but isn’t that just how he operates? Limited authority means he can't pull off everything he wants.

The US can keep borrowing until they can’t anymore. But how long is that gonna last?

If he chooses to default, it’ll wreck domestic investors too. The bond market isn’t just about foreign holdings; tons of US companies depend on it.

Interesting point on bond distribution. I never considered how much is held domestically. But if Trump cancels bonds for political reasons, does that hurt US credibility in global finance?

Totally. Can’t just piss everyone off without consequences. But the way the US economy is heading, it might lean more towards self-sufficiency like China.

Ethics are out the window, and that’s the issue. Trump does whatever benefits him. It’s dangerous when nuclear powers are involved. Countries need security.

For sure, nuclear weapons did change the game in WWII. Countries are hesitant to start a war when nuclear options exist. Safety first.

Debt situation is grim, but they can inflate or renegotiate obligations. We’re not in traditional default territory here.

Yeah, but what if warfare isn’t even an option? China isn’t easily defeated. They’ve invested too much in stability to risk it.

I don’t get why people jump to war talk so quickly. It’s not what we need. So many lives get ruined in conflict.

Exactly, we can’t keep screaming for war without thinking it through. Who wants that? It’s always the citizens that suffer.

Maybe. Things just seem so uncertain with Trump leading right now.
