So the US just announced they’ve captured the Venezuelan president and his wife. They’re saying he’s a threat to world peace? I mean, can we even talk about justice here? America keeps calling out Putin for Ukraine but now they’re doing this. Kinda hypocritical, don’t ya think?

exactly, how’s that fair? It’s like they’re pointing fingers while doing the same thing. I get it that Maduro isn’t the best, but shouldn't there be a clear line on international law with sovereign nations?

Taiwan and Venezuela are apples and oranges. Better comparison would be Venezuela and Panama... both had rigged elections. Just look at the difference in approaches: full-scale invasion vs under-the-table tactics.

Honestly, this is just classic power play. The big countries are flexing their muscles. Like, Russia took a piece of Ukraine, China’s eyeing Taiwan, and now the US is making moves in Latin America. This is the world we live in now.

Maduro's arrest reminds me of the whole Saddam Hussein saga. US used WMDs as an excuse to invade Iraq, and now they’re redefining WMDs for Venezuela. Everything’s a threat when it suits them.

Not defending the US, but this invasion was clearly wrong. Yet the people of Venezuela seem okay with it? Saw interviews where they said Maduro didn’t even win those elections. Sounds like they’re relieved.

Totally! Venezuelans are just looking for freedom. With the US stepping in, they believe things will get better. They’ve got those huge resources, so why not improve the economy?

But let’s be real, the US probably has its eyes on those oil reserves. Trump’s after the oil, not just peace. Charges against Maduro are probably just a cover-up for that.

Recovery will depend on who takes over next and if foreign companies wanna invest in Venezuela’s oil. Seems like Trump wants to use Venezuelan oil against Russia and China. Just saying, gotta be cautious though. Corruption is still a major issue here.
