So I just found out that Bitmain has added a new control board for the S19 series miners. They previously used Xilinx, BeagleBone, and AMLOGIC boards. Now there’s the CV1835 board, which looks like it’s designed in-house. One of my recent S19 XP units came with it. This just means more trouble for us miners who want to overclock or run custom firmware. Seems like we’ll have to deal with even more variations in the future.

I bet they're doing this just to cut costs. Every cheaper board means more profit for them. Makes sense they’re not even making them themselves. They probably just go for the lowest bid with an RFQ. I mean, it’s like how some monitors are actually made by different companies but just have the same brand logo. As long as the specs are close, they don’t care.

Honestly, it’s a mess. All these mining companies do the same thing. MicroBT is another one. They have so many PSU models, and they don’t even match in voltage. You end up with a bunch of stuff that doesn’t work together. When you ask what you’ll get, it’s always a mystery. "Open the box and see." Great, just what I needed.

Has anyone figured out a fan spoofer for these new boards? I’m really struggling to find something that works with the CV1835.

I noticed the same thing... The 19K Pros I got from you guys last year came with AMLogic boards, but all the recent S19s have this CV board. I think it’s all about cost too. Seems like that’s the main reason they’re switching things up.
