So, the UK’s FCA just dropped a report about illegal crypto ads, right? They’re saying they found a ton of non-compliance since those new rules kicked in. Sounds like they’re finally stepping up.

Yeah totally! But why do we even need a regulator? Shouldn't they be there to protect users? With all the scams out there, especially in ads, it’s about time someone took action. Deepfakes are getting wild too.

And what about Russia? They’re making a registry of legit market players. But honestly, I’m getting bombarded with fraud calls every day. All this software to block them, but it feels like nothing changes.

Exactly! Scammers are smart now, and with deepfakes, it's even trickier. But I feel like governments can’t handle it alone. Platforms like Google need to step up and verify advertisers better.

Preach! It’s gonna take more than just the regulators pushing back. Google and Facebook should enforce stricter ad guidelines and educate users on spotting scams. There’s way too much fraud.

Maybe a fresh approach could help. Social media plays a big role in this mess, but education alone might not cut it. Scammers are getting wise to legit info.

From what I’ve seen in Russia, setting up fake companies is super cheap, but the payoffs are massive. Scammers are always gonna find ways around the rules. Google and Facebook can’t keep up.

I think it’s worth it, though. If they’re cracking down on fake ads, that taxpayer money is being used well. But educating people is half the battle since many won’t take the time.

They’re not really blocking info, just regulating ads. We can filter new ads easier. Just need some solid whitelisting and filtering for these big platforms.

Honestly, I can’t remember seeing a crypto ad that wasn’t a scam. They just link Bitcoin to scams or push shady trading sites. Where are the ads for useful projects?

True, but a lot of companies just use software to filter ads, not actual people. So, clever ad managers can slip through the cracks pretty easily.

Yeah but software can adapt! Filters like uBlock can block tons of garbage. Google is smart enough to eliminate bad ads if they really want to.

Lol you think so? Google has messed up plenty of times. They could do better if they really cared. They’ve fixed issues before with just one line of code.

Nice quote from Pushkin, but it’s true! These companies let violators slip through because they’re focused on profit. That’s why the restrictions feel pointless.

And it’s been a problem for ages. Companies prioritize profit over ethics or regulations. Banning stuff like VPNs just doesn't work.

Exactly! Government bans don’t solve the problem. I still use my VPN despite all the restrictions. This is just a formal approach to the issue.
