Transaction Stuck for Weeks, What to Do?

Got a tx that’s stuck in mempool for two weeks... it’s a custodial wallet and sender is Mia. Any tips to bump the fee or something without the keys? Tx#: 3fc2ebf7dd2ce21a8b7a68545942c0d1b8f0f141f8a4c91865031eb65a5e4209

You can use replace-by-fee to bump the fee. Alternatively, wait an hour and try ViaBTC’s free accelerator to get it confirmed in the next block.

Do you have access to the receiving address? If so, you could do CPFP. Just need to spend the funds from the unconfirmed transaction with a higher fee. But if your wallet doesn’t allow that, you might need to import your keys to Electrum.

Checked your TXID. It’s been two weeks and looks like it’s been rejected by nodes. You might wanna talk to Mia about sending a new transaction with a better fee.

Let’s hope ViaBTC works its magic and confirms it. Couldn’t find it on blockchair, but checked on a couple of other explorers. Still appears valid.

I’m in the same boat, higher fee though. Been over two weeks and ViaBTC won’t accelerate me because my tx is too big. Any ideas?

I paid like 60 or 80 sat per byte.

If you’re not doing RBF and can’t use ViaBTC, all you can do is wait then. But it’s been two weeks, and most nodes probably dropped it.

Fee was about 30 sat/byte. I said two weeks cause of OP’s post, but it could be 12 or 13 days too. Just waiting... my wallet shows it as local so maybe there’s still hope.

Yeah, it’ll turn to local if the node drops it. Right now, fee rates are lower so maybe it’ll get confirmed soon.

As long as you’re the sender or trust them to keep broadcasting, you can wait it out.

I’m both sender and receiver here. Still stuck in the mempool, about 30MB from the tip. The fee’s around $5-6 which is too much for what I’m sending.

If you’re consolidating inputs, waiting might be your best bet. Set up alerts for fees too, like with LoyceV’s thread.

Honestly, I’ve had transactions take months. If you don’t need the funds urgently, let it ride.

This happened to me a few years back... waited almost 3 months but got my coins back using Electrum to resend.

Depends on your wallet. If you don’t cancel, Bitcoin Core should keep broadcasting. Even if fees are low, it may still get picked up.

With Electrum, it’s all about the servers. Some drop transactions after two weeks, others not at all. You can switch servers if you’re stuck.
