So a Japanese court just said bitcoins lost in the Mt. Gox collapse aren’t really owned by anyone. Crazy, right? I'm not sure how to feel about it just yet. What do you guys think?

I mean, yeah, there are bigger issues in global finance right now. But still... this could set a strange precedent for crypto ownership. Feels kinda unsettling.

Yo, that link you dropped is broken or something. Can we please double-check the links we share? Don't wanna send anyone to phishing sites or anything.

Ownership has a strict definition, and all that paperwork involved? Bitcoin doesn’t fit that mold. If they wanna treat it like property, then they need to centralize it. Total contradiction to what bitcoin’s all about, being decentralized and all.

One way to think about ownership is control. With bitcoin, we can still control it digitally and do transactions whenever. I get why this court case is tricky since it’s tied to Mt. Gox. But I believe over time, ownership of bitcoin will be more clearly defined. They really should take it to a higher court for a better ruling.
