Hey guys, I need some advice. Got an old laptop with 1TB of space, only using it for Bitcoin Core. I’ve got 187GB free and I'm curious... with the blockchain getting bigger, how long will that last? I might switch to pruned mode later but right now I’m just wondering how long I can keep going like this.
Looking at the recent blocks, the average size is about 1.62MB. Plus, the block time might be less than 10 minutes now as difficulty goes up. So yeah, you could run out of space faster if things heat up with protocols like Ordinals that use witness data. Just a heads up.
