Hey everyone, I stumbled upon this riddle about 0.2 BTC yesterday. I'm pretty close to cracking it (or at least I think so) and was curious if anyone else here is trying to solve it too. I’ve got some hints from another thread. Here’s the link to the puzzle: https://github.com/HomelessPhD/BLM_0.2BTC Hope I’m posting this in the right spot, if not, just move it. Appreciate it!

First time seeing this riddle, so I’m not exactly on it yet. But I know some folks here have tackled Bitcoin puzzles before. You did post in the right place, no worries there. By the way, I just checked and that 0.2 BTC is still chillin’ in that address. Let’s get to work, everyone!

I think this puzzle has popped up before. I managed to trace a reference back to December 2020, but it was buried in a thread about something completely different. And honestly, if it’s been unsolved for over a year, it’s probably either really tough or there’s some mistake in it.

I don’t believe the puzzle is faulty. I checked some threads on reddit and no one’s come up with anything solid. Deciphering those runes is a lot of work though. I actually found a solution and was surprised to see that the seed is a readable phrase, but it doesn’t open up the wallet.

If no one has cracked the seed phrase in two years, it’s either a tough nut to crack or the seeds in the image are just decoys for the actual wallet holding the prize.

Runes! Thanks for sharing, OP! Anyone got a source for these runes? They’re kinda mesmerizing.

Interesting take. Looks like a mix of languages. Some of the runes seem Germanic not Nordic. Like rune number 4 (ᛜ), which doesn’t even exist in the Nordic alphabet. But plenty are from the Nordic runes. Anyone managed to decode it yet?

Here’s how the runes translate (according to reddit): - 'Moon' and 'Tower' are on the clock's hands - 'Food' is linked to the Seattle Space Needle - 'Breathe' appears on George Floyd's chest and the statue's neck - Rune 1 in Russian says: "I hope many bitcoins will be sent here" - Rune 2 in Russian: "Sum of two numbers" - Rune 3 is in Bill’s Cipher: "Tuesday" - And a part of the last one is cut off.

The mnemonic word list doesn’t even include 'breathe'... or 'subject' for that matter.

I don’t wanna be a downer but you might be right. The fact this puzzle is still unsolved after so long really makes me think it could be fake or just poorly presented. I was willing to give it a shot until I found out how old it was.

Came across an old thread today. This puzzle’s gonna be solved sooner or later. I actually believe many puzzles are pretty easy, considering I’ve seen people win from them before. This thread seems outdated though.

Honestly, the creator should just step forward and solve it publically. The prize doesn’t seem worth the hassle and the image quality isn’t helping at all.

Definitely would’ve been cracked by now if it was legit. 0.2 BTC is decent cash but I doubt many will spend time on it unless they're sure it can be solved. That 32 BTC puzzle seems more real since we know it’s a brute force situation. With this one, it feels like a wild goose chase.

Guys, I’ve got a hint. Don’t just find the words; pay attention to the sentences scattered around the picture. Every single sentence might hold a clue or lead to a word reference.

What’s stopping you? Go for it! Pay close attention to those sentences and let’s see if you can solve this for the cash. 😉

We definitely need more clues. Like how many mnemonic words are we talking? 12, 15, 18, 21, 24? I’m thinking it’s 24 based on the left side where it mentions "covid 19 is a hoax 5G is the killer". So 19 + 5 = 24? What do you think?

I suspect it’s 13 (12 words plus a passphrase). That’s because the flag has 13 stripes and also there’s the 44 stars (BIP 44).

I think the clock could be pointing out the locations for the mnemonic words as described under it. Plus, the number 12 on the clock is aimed at a STOP SIGN, and there’s an O circling the hand of the statue of liberty. Seems like it’s a 12-word seed phrase, but we need to figure out if it’s an Electrum or BIP39 wallet since some words match Electrum seed phrases.

This is cool, I’ve seen a similar thread here before about this riddle. Now that it’s here, I’m sure someone clever will crack it soon for that 0.2 BTC. I’ve never tried solving one of these but the image has a lot of stuff from 2020, which was a wild year for a lot of people. Can't believe time flies, almost August 2023 already.
