What's up everyone? I’ve been stacking some BTC for a while now, and I'm finally thinking about buying an ASIC. I found the S9j on Amazon for like 260 bucks and the S19j for 2k. Both seem like they'd pay off in a year, but I’m torn on which to get. Any thoughts?

So the S9j needs 120 volts, while the S19 is 230 volts. You gotta think about heat issues too... Can you handle cranking 3000 watts for the S19? Plus, it can be pretty loud. I heard if you run it with Braiins, it’s not too bad noise-wise.

Electricity cost matters a lot too. The S9j runs at 0.093j/Gh while the S19j is at 0.036j/Gh. If your power is cheap, go S9j, but if it's not, S19j is way more efficient.

Awesome you're getting into mining! Besides your power costs, check if you have techs around for repairs. If something goes wrong and you can’t fix it yourself, shipping for repairs could suck and cost a fortune.

Don’t buy ASICs for BTC you've already purchased... that's just not worth it.

2k for an S19j is kinda steep right now... I found a used 95th model for just 850.

Really tough to say without your electricity rate. The S9 and S19 are worlds apart. With S9, if you're paying $0.04 per kWh, you're basically not making anything.

Hey everyone. I'm clueless about mining but eager to learn. I checked out a mining site and it looks like with $0.1/KWH, the S9 is actually losing money? Is that right?

The S9 hasn't been relevant for ages. Even with free electricity, it’s gonna need constant repairs that can eat into your profits. An S19 can work fine at 4 cents per kWh.
