SEC is stepping up their game, huh? But $75K for all that? Seems kinda low to me. Still, at least they’re making a statement that nobody’s above the law.
SEC Takes Action Against Celebrities for ICO Fraud

Why did it take so long for the SEC to act on this? I mean, with the amount involved, it’s strange. And with DeFi blowing up, I can totally see more celebs jumping on the scam bandwagon. Feels like 2017 all over again.

Yeah, I think that $75K is just for TI since he was promoting the FLIK tokens. The producer, Ryan Felton, is gonna get hit harder. But don’t expect jail time, it’s a white collar crime. They usually just pay fines.
It’s crazy how greedy people get. I never thought celebs would scam regular folks like this. Even after all the warnings, some investors still fall for these promotions. Seriously, influencers can’t be trusted blindly. Research is key.

Glad the SEC is doing something about these scams, even if it sometimes messes with crypto users. But what about the investors who lost money? Will they ever get their funds back? How does that work?
