So, the SEC is having a hard time hiring crypto experts. Apparently, people don’t wanna sell off their coins to work there. Seems like a bad trade-off to me.

Not surprised. Public sector salaries are usually way lower than private. You want me to ditch my crypto and take a pay cut? Hard pass.

Yeah, karma's a bummer. SEC's been throwing FUD everywhere and now they want help? I doubt many in crypto wanna work for them.
For real, they should just train new folks instead of trying to recruit from an industry that hates them. Makes zero sense.

Right? Plus, most of these experts are young and want freedom, not a government job. I'll take my chances on Bitcoin rising over a SEC gig.
This reminds me of how the NSA had trouble hiring because of their strict drug policies. What if these crypto experts just quit to invest instead?

Haha, after all those losses from cases against Ripple and Binance, good luck finding anyone who wants to join them. They’re in a rough spot.
What do these experts even do? Help tighten laws? Recover locked assets? Seems like they could just hire more lawyers instead.

In Russia, they say it's an 'unplowed field'... tons of work but not enough skilled hands. SEC needs top talent but they’re tough to find.
Lol, who’d take a job where they gotta dump their coins? Seems way more lucrative to FOMO into crypto instead.

It's serious though. You join, you sign NDAs. If you break them, it’s prison time. That’s a hard sell for anyone.
Shows how smart crypto enthusiasts are. Sell all your assets for a SEC job? No thanks. Finding someone with those skills is gonna be tough.
Not really karma. They want you to sell your crypto before hiring. How is that not a betrayal? That’s like turning your back on the community.
A Russian might ask, can my wife or kid hold crypto if I can't? People always find a way around rules.
SEC could train new talent, but they want experience. Gov needs seasoned pros with crypto knowledge. But no loyal crypto person will give up their coins.
Lol, I think @Eternad was being sarcastic. SEC's kinda known for being anti-crypto, so it’s ironic they can’t find help.
True. All laws apply to employees, even if it wasn’t a rule before. I wonder how they’ll handle family members of employees.
Even if pay is decent, what kind of crypto expert would want to work for the SEC? Many in crypto are shady; the real experts are hard to find.
Big question is what defines a 'crypto expert'? The meaning varies a lot in different communities. It’s a broad field.
SEC might lose more employees if they enforce this rule. People don’t wanna give up their crypto easily.
