I mentioned earlier that I wasn't sure if you can actually run full nodes on mobile devices. ABCbits gave two options for this: ABCore and Smartino. I'm curious to try it out on my phone.
Heads up, if you're using mobile data, your ISP can see everything between your device and the bitcoin node. This might be a problem since BIP324 isn't likely supported yet. Same goes for WiFi and home networks.
Wow, didn't expect you to actually try it! But keep in mind, ABCore hasn’t had a release since 2019. Smartino got updated last year, but it’s still using old stuff.
Yeah, I don't have a PC to run it right now, so I’ll make do with what I have. At least I’ll learn something. Eventually, when I get the right tools, it should be easier.
Most alternative implementations lag behind Bitcoin Core in patches and fixes. It’s not a huge issue, though. You might miss some soft forks, but those are rare.
