Remote Access to WhatsMiner Port Forwarding Issues

Hey everyone I’m trying to connect to my WhatsMiner from outside my local network using port forwarding. Got Antminer and InnoSilicon working fine on port 80, but WhatsMiner just won’t budge. Tried port 24 and 8080, but no luck. Only port 4028 is open, but that’s just for API access. I need to get to the miner's config and status page. Can anyone help me out?

Why not just use some software for remote access? I mean, check out AwesomeMiner with a Remote Agent. It lets you manage all your ASIC miners from one spot. If you don’t want a PC running 24/7, you could use a Raspberry Pi instead. Just plug it into the same network and install the remote agent for Linux.

Thanks for that tip The issue is I don’t have an extra PC lying around to set this up. I’ll look into your suggestion though.

Just a heads up Port forwarding can be kinda risky. I’ve read that your miners can be easily scanned by hackers. If they find your IP and an open port, they could gain access and mess with it. If you don’t have a spare PC, consider setting up a VPN on your router. Much safer than port forwarding.

Appreciate your input My router actually supports a VPN server, so that makes things easier for me. Still curious about how to get WhatsMiner working with port forwarding though. Just want to learn for future use.

It’s not really up to WhatsMiner whether it allows access or not. If you can reach it locally on port 80, you should be able to do it remotely too. Might be a router issue, especially with the WhatsMiner GUI and its certificate problems. Most firewalls might block it. Honestly, I wouldn’t mess with your router’s security settings. Better to have a spare PC on-site, doesn’t have to be top of the line.
