Money supply controlled by politics? Sounds like a recipe for chaos. Central banks are supposed to keep things neutral, but it's clear their decisions can shift inflation and public trust in the government.
Political Manipulation of Interest Rates

Totally agree. Nowadays, it feels like political agendas shape interest rates more than economic stability. After a government falls, banks take big hits cause of bad loans to former leaders. It's all about keeping the people happy before elections.

For real? This has been happening forever, not just now. You gotta look at specific countries though. Turkey's a prime example where Erdogan meddled with rates, totally wrecking their economy. And in the US, the Fed gets constantly bashed by politicians.

Exactly! Interest rates are like a stealthy political weapon. It influences the cost of borrowing, and those in charge can pretty much set the tone for the whole economy without much backlash.
Sure, but borrowing can lead to serious troubles. The added interest is just a political trick to keep citizens in debt. Some central banks have learned bad practices from the IMF, which doesn’t always lead to great decisions.
Yeah, in a lot of developing nations, politicians really mess with monetary policy. If they pick the central bank heads, you know there's gonna be influence. It’s a vicious cycle for sure.

Interest rates are meant to be economic tools, but politicians definitely twist them for their own gain. It’s a balancing act that often ends up punishing the average person.
Nothing new here. Politics and economics have been intertwined for ages. Look at Brazil, the president got impeached back in 2016 for manipulating finances to win elections. Everyone in power plays the same game.
