Just saw this article about Terawulf starting a nuclear-powered mining farm. Crazy stuff, right? They got a power price of 0.02 per kWh, locked in for 5 years. Only 1.9 Eh/s right now, but I can see more of these popping up soon. But what are the downsides? I mean cheap and stable energy sounds like a dream for miners.

There’s more to it. Even if Terawulf’s doing well, nuclear energy isn’t exactly on the rise in the U.S. It’s complicated. Sure, renewables are growing, but nuclear is facing financial pressure that leads to plant shutdowns. So, is this really the future, or just a blip?

Um, I think I saw this discussed somewhere else already. Pretty sure it’s a hot topic these days.

Yeah I get that. But I actually posted my thoughts on this about a day before that other thread. So I’m keeping mine open. Just wanted to share!
