So the new British Travel Rule is officially in play. Kinda crazy how it aims to tackle money laundering through crypto. You think this is gonna really stop the bad actors?

Wait, so every incoming crypto transfer to exchanges in the UK is gonna get examined? Sounds like a hassle. What happens if they find something wrong? Just block the transfer?

Yeah, I've heard exchanges will just halt everything until they get the necessary info. That’s gonna slow down trading for sure. Anyone else feeling kinda uneasy about this?

Honestly, this was coming. FATF put this on the table back in 2019. UK businesses are now scrambling to stay compliant. I get why they do it, but it’s frustrating. And don’t get me started on NFTs making it easier for scammers!

Post-Brexit UK is wild, but the EU isn’t far behind either. Seems like they all want tighter control on crypto. What if there’s a country that stays chill on regulations? Like, maybe a tax haven where we can trade more freely?

Blocking transfers without snagging the funds doesn’t make sense. They’re after the money. Seems like we’re just getting deeper into regulation. I wonder where crypto will be in 5 years.

The safest bet might be those tax haven spots. If you use centralized services, it’s inevitable you’ll have to hand over some data. P2P might be the escape route we all need.

But I wasn’t really saying you have to give KYC. Just that some places won’t have strict rules. Like in the UK, you need ID to use a Bitcoin ATM, but other countries might chill on that.

This isn’t just the UK, it’s FATF’s rules for all members. UK is leading the charge, but soon Europe will follow. The easiest way to avoid attention? Just keep exchanges small, like $300-$500 transactions.
