Just found out about this Hornet Node thing. It’s supposed to be a new Bitcoin client with a super fast UTXO database. They say it can sync the blockchain way quicker than Bitcoin Core, like 10 times faster! Makes me wonder if this could be a real big deal for using Bitcoin on-chain.
New Bitcoin Client Hornet Node: What Do You Think?

I remember seeing this node client mentioned before. But seriously, where’s the code? Seems like they’re just dragging their feet with updates. UTXO growth really slows down the sync process on older systems. If it ever drops, maybe we should see how it stacks up against Bitcoin on different setups like SSD vs HDD.
No code, no trust. Was thinking this could grab a small market share, maybe 5% of the nodes, but without open source, who's gonna run it? The whole MIT license thing doesn’t mean much if people can’t actually verify what they’re dealing with, especially when it’s money at stake.
Yeah, I noticed that too. They haven’t released the source or any binaries, so we're stuck just speculating. The paper gives some code snippets, but that’s not enough to test anything. Promises of modularity sound nice, but I want to see the actual implementation.
